Associate Director – Valuation (Lead Valuation Surveyor) – Chartered Surveyors

Location:

Hertfordshire / Hybrid / 2 days in office

Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 + Commission + Benefits

The Company

A well-established, multi-disciplinary firm of Chartered Surveyors operating from multiple offices in Hertfordshire and Central London, with decades of experience advising on commercial property across retail, office, industrial and investment sectors.

The firm acts for a broad client base including major lenders, local authorities, housing associations and private individuals, and has built a reputation for a personal, responsive service backed by genuine technical depth.

The Role

A newly available, hands-on opportunity for an experienced Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer to take day-to-day responsibility for the firm's Valuation service, with a clear path to Partner or Head of. This is a fee-earning role covering a broad range of commercial property valuations and development appraisals across different asset classes, principally for loan security, acquisition, accounts and other professional purposes.

You'll work alongside an established team of Chartered Surveyors and Registered Valuers, hold and develop key client relationships, and play a central role in supporting graduate surveyors through their RICS APC.

Key Responsibilities

* Undertaking commercial property valuations and development appraisals across a range of property types and purposes

* Managing valuation instructions from initial enquiry and quotation through to inspection, reporting and completion

* Maintaining and growing relationships with existing clients, contributing to the ongoing development of the Valuation service

* Managing your own workload to ensure instructions are delivered to a high technical standard and within agreed timescales

* Supervising and mentoring graduate surveyors, including support through the valuation elements of their APC

* Overseeing the day-to-day professional requirements of the Valuation service, including RICS and Valuer Registration compliance and input into PI renewal

* Working collaboratively across the wider team of Chartered Surveyors and Registered Valuers

Candidate Requirements

* RICS qualified Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer

* Commercial property valuation experience across a range of property types

* Sound knowledge of valuation methodology, RICS professional standards and valuation reporting

* Able to manage a varied valuation workload independently and take ownership of client instructions

* Strong client relationship and communication skills

* Comfortable supervising and developing graduate surveyors

* Commercial, organised and self-motivated, with high professional and technical standards

* Clean driving licence
