JOY IN MOVEMENT Studio Assistant

Joy in Movement (J.I.M) is a fully automated infrared fitness studio located in Rotherham, offering 30‑minute classes in a high‑heat environment.

The Role

As Studio Assistant you’re the first smile members see and the last wave they get on the way out. You’ll keep the studio running beautifully, help members feel at home, and play a real part in growing the J.I.M community.

Reports To

Studio Manager – day‑to‑day shifts, member experience, content, and admin support.

What You’ll Be Doing Member Experience & Community
  • Welcome every member by name and make them feel at home from the moment they walk in.
  • Get to know the regulars: what classes they love, what they’re working on, how to keep them coming back.
  • Help out at studio events, socials, and member milestones (birthdays, 100‑class celebrations, etc.).
  • Answer member questions about classes, infrared benefits, memberships, and the J.I.M App.
  • Be a friendly point of contact for first‑timers – show them around, set them up, and take the nerves out of class one.
Social Media & Content
  • Help capture content for the studio’s Instagram and Tik Tok:
    Reels, stories, behind‑the‑scenes, post‑class snaps.
  • Be on hand to film members (with consent), classes in action, and the day‑to‑day J.I.M magic.
  • Engage with our local online community by replying to comments and DMs in our brand voice.
  • Bring ideas – if you spot a trend, suggest it; we love an in‑studio creative.
Wellness & Studio Vibe
  • Keep the studio looking and feeling its best: clean, calm, beautifully scented, ready for the next class.
  • Reset the hot room between classes and complete daily presentation checks.
  • Be a wellness advocate – share class tips, hydration reminders, and recovery advice in a way that feels natural, not pushy.
Day‑to‑Day Operations
  • Open and close the studio, including light cleaning and equipment checks.
  • Manage the booking system in Hapana Core: check‑ins, waitlists, swaps, and member queries.
  • Support the Studio Manager with admin, member follow‑ups, and any local projects.
  • Help with Free Pass leads – follow up warmly, book in trials, and welcome new faces.
  • Submit any incident reports same‑day for safety and compliance tracking.
How We’ll Measure Success
  • Members feel personally welcomed – acknowledged and greeted by name as soon as you’re free.
  • First‑timers convert to regulars – you actively support the Free Trial follow‑up flow.
  • The studio is always class‑ready – clean, calm, and on‑brand.
  • Content captured during your shifts contributes consistently to the studio’s social channels.
  • Bookings, check‑ins, and member queries are handled accurately and on time.
A Typical Shift
  • Before Class – Open the studio (lights, music, scent, temperature check), sweep reception, run the equipment check, greet arrivals by name, check in first‑timers and walk them through the basics.
  • During Class – Capture a few short content moments (with consent) for Instagram and Tik Tok, welcome late arrivals quietly and handle any reception queries.
  • Between & After Class – Reset the hot room (wipe down, restock, refresh), send members off with a warm goodbye and a hydration nudge, reply to any DMs or comments in brand voice, close down (clean, lock up, complete the closing checklist).
You’ll Be Great at This If You…
  • Love people and lead with warmth – this is non‑negotiable.
  • Are passionate about wellness in some form, whether that’s movement, recovery, mindset, or infrared.
  • Have an eye for content and know your way around Instagram and Tik Tok.
  • Are reliable, punctual, and proactive – you spot the little things that need doing.
  • Communicate clearly and kindly, in person and on screen.
  • Can handle a busy reception, a curious first‑timer, and a content idea all at the same time.
The Good Stuff
  • Salary: £12.80 per hour.
  • Hours: Part‑time, 16 hours/week with flexible shifts including evenings and weekends.
  • Location: Studio location, J.I.M Wath‑U‑On‑Dearne, Rotherham.
  • Holiday: 28 days statutory pro‑rata holiday allowance.
  • Unlimited free classes for you.
  • Real opportunity to grow – many of our future Studio Managers will start right here.
  • A warm, fun, supportive team and a brand that actually walks its wellness talk.
