M&A Tax Manager

M&A Tax Manager / Senior Manager / Associate Director Hybrid - 3 days in City Office Large deal experience, without the large firm bureaucracy Work with a mid-tier firm whose Corporate Finance and M&A reputation is well beyond its size. This Transaction Services and Deal Advisory practice is growing fast, with buy-side and sell-side mandates in progress and a strong pipeline behind them.

To keep pace, the firm is looking for an experienced tax professional to lead its tax due diligence and structuring work. Why join Real deal exposure, early and often. You'll be the day-to-day tax lead on acquisitions, disposals and refinancings for private equity funds, search funds, corporates and other financial investors. At a firm this size, you get the responsibility and client contact that can take years to reach elsewhere.

A small, close-knit tax team.

You'll work with in a medium-sized Transaction Services and Deal Advisory group where people know each other, work together and get noticed. You'll have direct access to senior leadership and a real voice in how the team grows. Flexible level. Strong candidates from Manager through to Associate Director will be considered, with scope and seniority reflecting your experience. Variety. Tax due diligence, structuring, SPA and tax covenant review, modelling assumptions, funds flows and cap tables, and cross-border work coordinating with the international tax team.

Work alongside the whole deal team. You'll work directly with financial due diligence colleagues, clients, targets, lawyers and bankers, not just other tax specialists. Room to shape things. You'll coach and develop junior colleagues and help improve processes and tools as the team scales. Hybrid working. A blend of office and home, with an average of three days a week in the office.

What you'll do Lead tax work streams on buy-side and sell-side transactions, including tax due diligence Design tax-efficient deal structures Prepare and review due diligence reports, step papers and advisory documents to a high technical standard Review SPAs, warranties, indemnities and tax covenants Be the day-to-day client contact, managing projects, deadlines and fee budgets Coach and manage junior team members About you Solid post-qualified experience with a proven track record in transaction tax Strong UK tax technical knowledge, with awareness of international tax concepts Experience managing and developing teams Able to explain complex tax issues clearly to non-tax stakeholders Proactive, organised and comfortable working independently and juggling multiple deadlines A personable, confident communicator, in writing and in person Salary and benefits Salary is bench-marked to your level of experience, with a discretionary bonus and a full benefits package.
