The Role The Engagement Director develops and promotes purposeful and engaging on- and off-site resident programming that supports the Vivid Life objectives of vibrant body, vibrant brain, and vibrant connections and promotes meaningful connections with residents, families and the community PONSIBILITIES:

Facilitate engagement programs that promote a vibrant lifestyle while modeling appropriate and successful engagement of residents for community staff.

Develop and follow monthly engagement calendars and daily engagement schedules that meet or exceed Vitality standards and that speak to residents’ preferences, experiences, and interests as detailed in life journals. Ensure calendars of events are posted prominently in the community for residents and visitors.

Effectively leverage technology to enhance engagement for residents and as a tool for team members to effectively engage residents.

Lead planning for special events, parties, and larger events for the entire community, including Memory Care in conjunction with other team members.

Participate in Vital Connections process and meetings with new residents and their family members.
• Ensure the completion of resident life journals.

Identify residents who are at risk for isolation, develop specific plans to enhance connections for those individuals, maximize resident engagement participation, and assist with escorting residents to activities or events as needed.

Directly supervise the performance of Engagement Coordinator(s) and/or Transportation staff as well as indirectly supervise Wellness team members with respect to engagement assignments and duties.

Participate in the Leader on Duty rotation to include team member supervision, conducting tours, problem-solving, community walk-through, etc.

Set up, organize, and communicate programming that other team members can facilitate throughout the day and during the absence of the Engagement Director (weekends, evenings, PTO, etc.).Establish and maintain quarterly event planning session with Culinary Services, Sales, and Memory Care leaders; maintain necessary communication amongst leaders to ensure successful events for residents, families, and the community anize and maintain appropriate supplies for resident engagement in line with departmental budget as well as tracks expenses on community spend down.

Coordinate outings, special events, and partnerships with the community at large to enhance overall engagement experience for residents.

Communicate observations of resident changes or concerns with Wellness team in a timely manner.

Develop strong relationships with family members of residents.
