Pool Manager; Temporary

overview

this position is perfect for an aquatic professional who has experience in working as a lifeguard and/or swim instructor looking for an opportunity in a leadership role. The pool manager will provide a safe and welcoming experience by supporting lifeguards, swim instructors, and participants. The pool manager will lead the aquatic safety team with duties to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies, including care for breathing emergencies, cardiac emergencies, and sudden illness.

• plan, coordinate, direct, and promote programs and activities in the city summer aquatic program.
• train, supervise, and evaluate part‑time employees and volunteers participating in aquatics programs.
• perform lifeguard and related duties in times of staff shortage.
• provide swimming instruction in times of staff shortage.
• perform other duties as required.

• current american red cross lifeguard training (lgt) certification (preferred).
• current american red cross lifeguard certification.
• current water safety instruction (wsi) certificate.
• current first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (cpr) certificates.
• valid class c california driver’s license, including a safe driving record.
• medical examination and department of justice livescan fingerprinting required before appointment.
