Assistant Manager

Our Wauconda location is in need of a high-energy, results-driven, self-motivated individual to fill the full-time, year-round position of Assistant Manager
. Those who enjoy working outdoors, are goal-oriented and have a passion for motivating and developing others would be a great addition to our team. Previous lawn or landscaping experience is helpful, but not required.

$54k - $60k based on experience.

Qualified candidates will be responsible for providing day-to-day direction to lawn care techs including hiring, training, coaching, and evaluating team members. Communication and follow-up with customers to ensure customer satisfaction, in addition to ensuring that sales and marketing activities are executed according to plan.

If you enjoy variety, this position involves a varying work environment with time spent in the office, as well as in the field training and evaluating lawn techs and making customer service calls as needed.

• Winter months are spent repairing and maintaining equipment in preparation for the next lawn treatment season.
• We offer paid training to obtain the required Illinois Pesticide License.

Applicants from other industries will be considered if they possess leadership skills and eagerness to learn.

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Strong leadership skills and supervisory experience required with proven track record of motivating and coaching staff members.
• Must possess valid IL Drivers’ License with good driving record and pass MVR and background screen.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday and Saturday as required.
• Mechanical inclination and/or experience a plus.
• Must enjoy working outdoors and be able to work in temperature ranges from teens to over 90 degrees and in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to follow driving directions and familiarity with assigned service area a plus.
• Must be able to read and recall regulations and procedures and pass the state issued pesticide exam.
• Ability to take direction and work independently to ensure production is completed and customers are satisfied.
