Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join their esteemed faculty in Paarl . This role involves cultivating students' understanding of spatial relationships, environmental processes, and global issues, fostering a sense of global citizenship. The ideal candidate will create dynamic learning experiences that blend theoretical knowledge with practical, real-world applications, encouraging students to critically analyze their surroundings and the interconnectedness of human and physical geography, making a significant contribution to the educational fabric of Paarl .
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver engaging geography lessons covering physical, human, and environmental geography according to the curriculum.
- Utilize maps, GIS software, data analysis, and fieldwork to enhance student understanding of geographical concepts.
- Assess student progress through a variety of methods, including essays, presentations, map work, and exams.
- Promote critical thinking skills and encourage students to explore contemporary geographical challenges and solutions.
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate geography across different subjects and support whole-school initiatives in Paarl .
- A degree in Geography or a related field, along with a recognized teaching qualification.
- Previous experience teaching geography at the high school level is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of geographical principles, theories, and contemporary global issues.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with geographical information systems (GIS) and relevant educational technologies is advantageous.
