Lead Concession Attendant - SEASONAL

The City of Waukee is looking for seasonal Lead Concession Attendants. Under the general direction of the Recreation Supervisor and Triumph Park Site Supervisor, this position provides day to day leadership for concession attendants while also assisting customers and preparing orders. Lead Concession Attendants help ensure smooth, efficient concession operations by supporting staff, maintaining service standards, and overseeing daily procedures.

Mid-March to early-April Work Hours: 4 to 20 hours per week

• 4 hour shifts
• Weekdays: 5:00pm - 9:00pm
• Weekends:
  Early morning to evening

Wages: $14.00 - $16.00 Must be 16 years of age.

• Concession stand sales, cleaning, and stocking.
• Takes orders for food and beverages and prepares food items according to the instructions.
• Completes cash transactions accurately, totaling purchases, tendering change, counting down cash drawers and preparing daily deposits.
• Directs and participates in the set-up of concession stands, arrange inventory of supplies, and communicate shortages to Recreation Supervisor.
• Oversees Concession Attendants in the efficient operation of concession stands.
• Directs and performs clean-up duties after each shift and ensure that concession stand, food preparation equipment is sanitized and tidied up for the next attendant.
• Keeps food preparation equipment, building and storage areas clean and well-maintained.
• Performs other duties or assumes other responsibilities as apparent or assigned.

• Continued education in high school or above. High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Confident in the use of computers and tablets and able to be trained in software required to complete functions of the position.

• Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
• Able to reach, climb, bend, kneel, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Able to spend the majority of work-related time standing.
• Able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of American money, weight and distance.
• Able to hear, see, and effectively communicate orally (in person and over the telephone) and in writing (using electronic devices and handwritten) in English with other employees, vendors and the community.

• Climate controlled building with large window openings where the results of weather and nature may be encountered.
• There is no residency requirement for this position.
