Our client is looking for a highly experienced and strategic Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations for their business in Paarl . This leadership role is responsible for financial planning, reporting, risk management, and ensuring compliance with all financial regulations. You will lead the finance team, providing critical insights to senior management to drive business growth and profitability. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of financial strategy, and a proven track record in financial management within a competitive market, based in this prominent Western Cape region.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Prepare and present timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (IFRS) and South African tax legislation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; professional qualification (CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA) is essential.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 3 years in a controller or similar role.
- Extensive knowledge of IFRS, South African tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
- Proven experience with financial software systems and advanced analytical skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking abilities.
- Experience in managing audits and working with external stakeholders.
