Public Affairs Specialist

Our client is seeking a proactive Public Affairs Specialist to manage their engagement with government bodies, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders in Paarl . This role is crucial for building and maintaining positive relationships, advocating for the company's interests, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies. You will be instrumental in shaping public policy discussions and fostering a favorable operating environment.

• Develop and implement strategies to engage with government officials and policymakers.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting the organization.
• Represent the company in relevant industry associations and public forums.
• Prepare position papers, policy briefs, and communication materials for public affairs initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders and stakeholder groups.
• Advise management on public affairs issues and potential risks.

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Communications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, or policy advocacy.
• Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to analyze complex policy issues and develop strategic responses.
• Commitment to working from our Paarl location and engaging with local communities in the Western Cape .
