Information Security Analyst - SOC

Our client is seeking a dedicated Information Security Analyst to join their Security Operations Center (SOC) team in Paarl . In this critical role, you will be on the front lines of defending the organization against cyber threats by monitoring security alerts, investigating potential incidents, and responding to security events in real-time. You will work with cutting-edge security tools to analyze threats, mitigate risks, and help maintain the integrity and confidentiality of company systems and data.

• Monitor security alerts and events generated by SIEM, IDS/IPS, and other security tools.
• Investigate security incidents, perform initial triage, and elevate as necessary.
• Analyze threat intelligence to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities.
• Assist in the development and refinement of SOC playbooks and standard operating procedures.
• Contribute to vulnerability management activities, including scanning and reporting.
• Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and investigations.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in an information security role, preferably within a SOC environment.
• Familiarity with security monitoring tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS) and concepts.
• Understanding of common cyber threats, attack vectors, and mitigation techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Relevant certifications like CompTIA Security+ or equivalent are a plus.
