Our client is seeking a skilled IT Security Administrator to join their operations team in Paarl . This role is responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of the company's security infrastructure. You will implement security measures, monitor systems for threats, and respond to security incidents to ensure the protection of IT assets and data. This is a hands-on position for an individual dedicated to maintaining a secure and stable IT environment within the scenic region of Paarl , working on-site to manage critical security systems.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and maintain security hardware and software, including firewalls, VPNs, and antivirus solutions.
- Monitor network and system activity for security breaches and policy violations.
- Respond to security alerts and incidents, performing initial investigation and remediation.
- Manage user access controls and permissions to ensure data confidentiality and integrity.
- Perform regular vulnerability scans and assist in patching and updating systems.
- Assist in developing and implementing security policies and procedures.
- Provide technical support to end-users on security-related issues.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in IT support or system administration with a focus on security.
- Proficiency in managing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint security solutions.
- Solid understanding of network security principles and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems security.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- CompTIA Security+ certification is a plus.
