Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled AI Systems Administrator to manage and maintain their advanced AI infrastructure in Paarl . You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, security, and optimal performance of complex AI hardware and software systems, including servers, networks, and specialized computing resources. This role requires a proactive approach to system monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance, playing a crucial role in supporting the research and development efforts of their AI and Emerging Technologies team, ensuring that cutting-edge projects have a reliable and efficient technological foundation to thrive upon, all within a secure and stable operational environment.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and specialized AI hardware.
- Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure high availability.
- Manage and secure AI infrastructure, including networking, storage, and compute resources.
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for critical AI data and systems.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, providing timely resolution.
- Collaborate with AI engineers and researchers to support their infrastructure needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in systems administration, with a focus on high-performance computing or AI infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems and server hardware management.
- Experience with networking protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud environments and containerization technologies is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a meticulous approach to system maintenance.
