Advocacy Officer

Our client is seeking a passionate and articulate Advocacy Officer to champion their cause and influence positive social change in Paarl and the surrounding Western Cape region. This role is crucial for raising awareness, engaging policymakers, and mobilizing community support to address critical social issues. You will be responsible for developing and implementing advocacy strategies, conducting research, and representing the organization in public forums.

• Develop and implement effective advocacy strategies and campaigns to achieve organizational goals.
• Conduct research on relevant social issues and policy matters.
• Engage with local government officials, policymakers, and community leaders to promote policy changes.

• Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and public events.

• Degree in Public Policy, Law, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in advocacy , policy analysis, or campaigning.
• Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at various levels.
• Understanding of the socio-political landscape relevant to Paarl and the Western Cape .
