Part-Time Store Clerk – Goodwill of Central Iowa

Goodwill of Central Iowa is looking for a Part‑Time Store Clerk to accept, sort, and merchandise donated goods; operate a cash register; and deliver outstanding customer service with our values of love, kindness, and respect.

$15.00/hr – $16.00/hr (based on skills and experience)

• Greet, assist, and engage with customers in a helpful and courteous manner.
• Receive donations from the public.
• Sort donations, stack and organize sorted merchandise, ensuring quality meets standards.
• Work with supervisors to arrange and rotate items on the sales floor, keeping merchandise organized and accessible.
• Practice safe cash handling and operate the cash register, including calculating and balancing the register as scheduled.
• Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, scrubbing, dusting, and mopping.
• Use a dolly, wheeled cart, pallet jack, and possibly a walking or riding forklift.
• Meet daily production goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Excellent customer service skills.
• High school diploma, current high school/GED enrollment, or a minimum of four years of combined military, high school, or full‑time paid employment.
• Availability to work days, evenings, and weekends.
• Ability to carry, lift, push or pull 40 pounds.
• Tolerance of temperature variations in the work environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Age 16 or older.
• Effective communication and basic math skills.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and a dependent adult and child abuse background check.
• Flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends to support business needs.

• A competitive starting wage of $15.00/hr.
• Weekend Shift Premium: an additional $1.00/hr on Saturday and Sunday shifts.
