Full‑Time Store Clerk

Goodwill of Central Iowa is looking for a Full‑Time Store Clerk to accept, sort, and merchandise donated goods, serve customers, operate the cashier, and deliver outstanding customer service while upholding our values of love, kindness, and respect.

Competitive: $15.00 / hr – $16.00 / hr (your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience).

• A competitive starting wage of $15.00 / hr
• Weekend Shift Premium: an additional $1.00 / hr on Saturday and Sunday shifts

• Greet, assist, and engage with customers in a helpful and courteous manner
• Receive donations from the public, sort them, and ensure quality standards are met
• Arrange and rotate items on the sales floor, keeping merchandise organized and accessible
• Practice safe cash handling and operate the cash register, including calculating and balancing the cash drawer as scheduled
• Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, scrubbing, dusting, and mopping
• Use a dolly, wheeled cart, pallet jack, and, if needed, riding or walk‑behind forklift
• Meet daily production goals
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Excellent customer service skills
• A high‑school diploma, GED, or equivalent, or four years of related full‑time paid employment
• Availability to work days, evenings, and weekends
• Ability to carry, lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds
• Ability to tolerate variations in work‑environment temperature
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• At least 16 years of age
• Effective communication and basic math skills
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a dependent adult and child abuse background check
• A flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends to support business needs
