Subsurface Geologist

Our client seeks a skilled Subsurface Geologist to join their team in Paarl , offering a hybrid work arrangement. You will be integral to understanding and mapping the subsurface geology relevant to our client's Oil & Gas operations. This role involves integrating various geological and geophysical datasets to build detailed subsurface models, assess resource potential, and identify geological risks. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, contributing essential geological insights that drive exploration and development strategies.

• Integrate geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data to create and update comprehensive subsurface models.
• Analyze well logs, core data, and seismic interpretations to characterize reservoir properties and architecture.
• Identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon traps and assess associated geological risks.
• Contribute geological expertise to field development planning and exploration prospect generation.
• Prepare and present geological evaluations and recommendations to project teams and management.

• Master's degree in Geology or a related geoscience discipline.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in subsurface geology , with a focus on the oil and gas industry .
• Proficiency in geological software, including mapping, modeling, and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of depositional environments, structural geology, and reservoir characterization techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, suitable for a hybrid work setting in Paarl .
