Telecommunications Field Engineer

Our client is seeking a hands-on and experienced Telecommunications Field Engineer to provide on-site technical support and installation services in the Paarl area. You will be responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of telecommunications equipment and systems. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to clients, ensuring their network infrastructure operates efficiently and reliably.

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, antennas, and base stations.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections of network infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to voice, data, and mobile telecommunications systems.
• Respond to service calls and provide timely on-site support to ensure minimal downtime.
• Document all service activities, technical findings, and resolutions accurately.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while performing duties in the field.

• Proven experience as a Telecommunications Field Engineer or a similar technical role.
• Strong technical knowledge of telecommunications hardware, software, and networking principles.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and techniques for troubleshooting network and equipment issues.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the Paarl region and surrounding areas.
