The Member Services Coordinator is a key part of the leadership team and is responsible for creating a positive, member-focused culture, facilitating member involvement and relationship building, and exceeding expectations. This role models and establishes expectations, communicates, and makes decisions in line with this culture. The Coordinator leads a team of staff and volunteers who serve as the primary connection point for current and potential members.
Qualifications- Ability to read, write, perform simple mathematical functions, and basic computer skills
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Completion of high school or equivalent
- One to three years of supervisory experience and/or team leadership
- One to three years of experience in a customer service role
- Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Windows or Google Workspace environments
- Current Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED certification or equivalent – prior to starting
- Intro to Y’s Cause & Culture Online Course – prior to starting if hired
- Additional training to be completed within the first 30 days and maintained thereafter
While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to stand, walk, and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with arms and hands, and lift up to ten pounds of weight. Vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision.
WorkEnvironment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. This position usually works in an office and fitness center oriented environment, but the mission of the organization may sometimes bring the employee to non-standard workplaces. This position works a standard work week, but additional evening, weekend, and other hours may be required to accommodate events and representing the organization.
EssentialFunctions
- Serve as a role model for staff, members, and volunteers by demonstrating the Y values and the Y voice through actions and communications.
- Create a work environment of ownership and accountability for staff members and members.
- Serve as a key member connection point for relationship building, general information, and customer service.
- Promote member engagement by encouraging involvement in related Y programs and small communities.
- Perform membership administrative functions including membership sales, financial assistance, membership changes, program registrations and membership accounting functions and processes.
- Build, lead, develop and train a staff team that genuinely cares about the needs of our community and our members and works to exceed expectations every day.
- Assist in the development and distribution of materials and communication to market and promote programs encouraging member engagement.
- Manage planned budget and information for assigned area to ensure revenue and expenses are consistent with approved budget plan.
- Assist in the organization’s financial development efforts, including the annual fundraising campaign.
- Attend department, branch and association staff meetings as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.
