Lifeguard Certification: If not certified, we will assist by providing the class to become certified, since it is a requirement of the position.

Job Location: Waukee Family YMCA

Shifts Available: Mornings (Preferred)

Pay Range: $12.00-$14.00/hour

Closing Date for Applications: January 7, 2026 - Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for supervising the activities of the members/guests in the aquatic department and to ensure their safety.

• Enforce rules and procedures.
• Keep pool and pool deck free of obstructions and safety hazards.
• Maintain constant surveillance of the water and pool deck areas.
• Handle equipment as assigned to ensure safety.
• Record chemical readings.
• Know emergency procedures and be able to demonstrate them.
• Maintain emergency equipment.
• Respond to all emergencies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.
• Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.
