Warehouse Operations Manager

About the Role Our client, a rapidly expanding enterprise in the logistics sector, is seeking an accomplished Warehouse Operations Manager to lead their state-of-the-art facility in Paarl, Western Cape . This critical leadership position is responsible for the overall efficiency, safety, and productivity of warehouse operations. You will drive strategic initiatives to optimize inventory management, streamline receiving and dispatch processes, and ensure the timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in warehouse management, a commitment to operational excellence, and the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team. This is a hands-on role requiring a dedicated individual passionate about logistics and operational improvement in the vibrant Western Cape region.

• Oversee all day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, warehousing, inventory control, and dispatch.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
• Manage a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
• Ensure the accurate and timely processing of all orders and shipments.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels and implement effective inventory control procedures.
• Implement and enforce strict health and safety standards within the warehouse environment.
• Manage warehouse equipment and facilities, ensuring optimal working condition.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders.
• Analyze operational data and generate reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Champion best practices in warehouse management and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management or a similar senior logistics role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale warehouse operations and teams.
• In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control techniques.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability in problem-solving and decision-making.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with relevant logistics software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is highly desirable.
• Experience in the Paarl area or surrounding Western Cape regions is a significant advantage.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
