The Customer Service Assistant is often the first point of contact for library visitors and plays a key role in creating a welcoming, helpful, and inclusive experience for our community. This position is ideal for someone who is friendly, adaptable, and comfortable working in a busy public setting.
Customer Service Assistants support patrons both in person and over the phone by helping them with library cards, checking out materials, locating books and resources, and answering general questions. They also assist with basic equipment use, support library programs and events, help maintain organized collections through shelving, and respond proactively to patron needs to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Position #1: 18 hours per week, $20.16 per hour.
Schedule: Mondays & Tuesdays 4-8pm, Fridays 9:30am-2:30pm, Saturdays 1-5pm
Position #2: 22 hours per week, $20.16 per hour.
Both positions include paid time off & some paid holidays. Position #2 also includes participation in IMRF.
