AboutThe Opportunity
The School Social Worker maintains quality services in accordance with state/federal guidelines and ensures that instruction, modifications, and related services for students with special needs are implemented consistently.
What You’ll Do- Work to prevent, assess, identify, and support social‑emotional needs in children, ensuring appropriate developmentally‑appropriate relationships and self‑regulation.
- Support school leadership on SEL initiatives and serve as an active member of the school SEL team; coach teachers, IAs, and paraprofessionals in the implementation of universal/Tier 1 SEL interventions and curriculum.
- Participate as a valued member of the Network and school‑based teams (SPED, 504, MTSS) to ensure scholars with social‑emotional needs are screened, identified, and evaluated appropriately, leading the FBA/BIP process.
- Serve as the primary case manager for 504/MTSS plans focused on SEL needs, overseeing scheduling and facilitating required meetings within timelines and ensuring 90‑100% compliance with special education, 504, and MTSS requirements.
- Prepare and present documents/reports within compliance timelines; participate in school‑based problem‑solving, 504/IEP meetings, and obtain information from non‑school agencies with signed releases.
- Develop and implement schedules for services, accommodations, and interventions indicated in individual scholar plans.
- Maintain and document records of direct services, collaboration logs, and progress monitoring data as required by the Network and local authorize rs, ensuring confidentiality.
- Ensure annual goals and benchmarks are data‑driven and research‑based, tailored to individual student needs.
- Stay current on research‑based best practices and evaluation tools; provide PDs or share information with SEL teams and stakeholders as needed.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and follow all Network, federal, state, and local regulations and laws.
- Participate in the Network Crisis team and provide emergency social services to support social‑emotional needs at own or other campuses.
- Participate in the school‑based Crisis Response team; obtain CPI training.
- Serve as the homeless liaison as needed and nominated by the school principal.
- Have a Master’s degree or higher in Social Work and valid State/District School Social Work Endorsement/Licensure.
