The Illinois Department of Transportation seeks an Associate CADD and Design Technician (Engineering Technician II) to perform computer-aided design and drafting operations for structural design drawings used in bridge and traffic structure construction. The position is based in Springfield and involves producing plans for simple to moderate structures, maintaining standard drawings, and staying current with CADD systems and structural policies.
Key qualifications:- Completion of two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering, or related technical/science curriculum plus twelve months of engineering experience, OR four years of engineering
- Experience with CADD software
- Ability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings
- Ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships with staff
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license
