Prompt Med Urgent Care – Waukegan is seeking a bilingual (Spanish-English) Front Desk Receptionist to join our fast-paced and community-focused clinic. As the first point of contact for patients, you’ll play a key role in creating a welcoming experience while managing check-ins, verifying insurance, and supporting daily operations. 4 scheduled shifts a week, rotating 12, 8 and 6-hour shifts (rotating weekends)

As a Front Desk Receptionist at Prompt Med Urgent Care in Waukegan, you’ll be responsible for creating a welcoming and efficient experience for every patient. Your day-to-day will include greeting walk-ins, managing the check-in process, verifying insurance, answering phones, and supporting the overall flow of the clinic. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, friendly, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Greet patients in a friendly, professional manner—in person and over the phone

Guide patients through the check-in and check-out process

Verify and update insurance, , and contact information

Enter patient data accurately into the EMR system

Collect co-pays, balances, and payments; reconcile transactions daily

Prepare intake packets and maintain adequate supplies of patient forms

Monitor and distribute drug screen results as needed

Ensure accurate charge entry for self-pay patients and collect payment

Assist patients with questions and elevate when necessary

Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines

Alert clinical staff immediately if a patient appears critically ill

Keep the waiting room and refreshment area clean and stocked

Clean the lobby bathroom daily and help with exam room prep if needed

Flexibly cover early or late shifts and coordinate time off

Perform other tasks as needed to support clinic operations

Education:

High School Graduate or Equivalent (required)
Language:
Bilingual, English-Spanish (required)

Experience:

1-2 years in customer service/relations (preferred)
Familiarity with computers (preferred)
