Description

Basic Function

To carry out activities which meet the needs of all consumers.

Essential Duties
  • Assist in planning and implementation of individual and group activities.
  • Carries out activities part of care plan.
  • Incorporates consumers’ interests into activities and discussion.
  • Gives consumers opportunities for choices and self-expression.
  • Makes contact with each consumer at least weekly.
  • Makes suggestions for new and varied activities.
  • Identifies and provides adaptive devices for those with sensory deficits (i.e., large-print books, closed captioning).
  • Promotes self-esteem and social interaction with consumers.
  • Provides activities that meets the needs of all consumers.
  • Encourages participation and involvement of all consumers.
  • Posts monthly and weekly schedules per Activity Director.
  • Updates and changes schedules and activity boards per Activity Director.
  • Prepares for and participates (as needed) in consumer care conferences.
  • Maintains a clean work and storage area.
  • Uses proper body mechanics.
  • Follows proper infection control practices.
  • Observes for consumer safety when in consumer care areas.
  • Charts legibly, with standard grammar and spelling.
  • Adheres to legal requirements and proper policies and procedures in documentation.
  • Prepares sites and materials for activities.
  • Maintains equipment in safe and functional condition.
  • Treats consumers and staff with respect and dignity.
  • Adheres to all facility and department safety policies and procedures.
    • Requirements Qualifications
    • No convictions for abuse, neglect or mistreatment or for misappropriation of property.
    • Prompt and regular attendance.

    This is a part-time position working every weekend from 8am to 4:30pm. Additional hours will be given based on department need.
