Base pay range$18.00/hr - $21.50/hr
Job Responsibilities- Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy and other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with state, federal, and company policies.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers on pharmacy systems.
- Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Share and model customer‑service best practices with all team members.
- Develop strong relationships with the most valuable customers.
- Assist in the practice of pharmacy under pharmacist supervision and review compliance with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
- Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs; verify medicine, check for interactions, and assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
- Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to Company policies and the Quality Improvement Program.
- Adhere to Walgreen Co. Good Faith Dispensing policy.
- Register all related sales on the assigned cash register, handle cash, and assist customers in locating products.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including those to physicians.
- Process manual claims for third‑party prescription programs efficiently; perform other clerical duties as assigned.
- Support Pharmacy Department inventory activities: ordering, unpacking, checking, storing shipments, and filing claims for overages and shortages.
- Assist in clinical services such as collecting and labeling patient samples; coordinate with Walgreens clinics and external providers.
- Build relationships with the local medical community through detailing, outreach, and collaboration with providers.
- Maintain exterior and interior Pharmacy Department appearance and supplies.
- Comply with all policies and maintain respectful coworker relationships.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- Earn and maintain PTCB certification (or other state‑required certification).
- Attend training and complete required PPLs, and acquire continuing education credits to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Six months of retail experience.
- Experience with Walgreens.
- Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling.
- Computer proficiency.
- Knowledge of store inventory control.
- PTCB certification.
