Overview
One of TEKsystems clients is looking for multiple qualified candidates to support their IT department's Datacenter Technician team. This is a great opportunity for someone to get their foot in the door with a local enterprise company and grow their skills within IT while having the opportunity to advance their careers within the organization.
Shift Details- Day Shift A:
Sunday – Tuesday & every other Wednesday, 6 AM – 6 PM - Night Shift A:
Sunday – Tuesday & every other Wednesday, 6 PM – 6 AM - Day Shift B:
Thursday – Saturday & every other Wednesday, 6 AM – 6 PM - Night Shift B:

- Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of racks, hard drives, and switches following specific instructions, checklists, guides, standard protocols, and emails.
- Perform post‑execution quality checks to verify grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling are correct according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues, quickly identify causes, and replace faulty components.
- Decommission IT hardware for simple changes and refreshes, such as memory upgrades and OS rebuilds, with minimal guidance.
- Communicate, report, and elevate incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads.
- Move servers and switches to required destinations for installation.
- Inspect servers and switches to ensure they are not damaged.
- Install servers and switches and cable them according to provided wire maps.
- Bundle cables neatly and ensure compliance with standards.
- Confirm with network admins that all cables are correctly routed and connections are active.
- Install additional components as needed (NICs, drives, memory).
- Assist in unboxing and prepping servers.
- Audit servers and consumables.
- Troubleshoot a variety of servers and isolate problems.
- Order replacement parts, install them, and ship defective parts back to vendors.
- Update firmware on servers to ensure latest versions are installed.
- Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.
- Assist network admins with issues such as damaged cables, re‑routing, optics replacement, or part upgrades.
- Temporarily rack and stack servers or switches for remote configuration by network admins.
- Deploy and configure GPUs in servers, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Flexibility to work non‑standard business hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Previous datacenter experience (a plus).
- CompTIA certifications are desirable.
Pay range: $33.00 – $36.00/hr.
