Position Purpose/

Summary:

The Forklift Operator will move material assigned in a warehouse or production environment using a forklift, pallet jack, or physical force as appropriate.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day tasks such as loading/unloading trucks and supplying production areas with product.
  • Remove finished goods to a warehouse storage area.
  • Apply MTS tags and use handheld scanner machines for bar codes to track components and chemicals.
  • Document, count, and verify customer piece counts for shipping and receiving.
  • Manage paperwork to properly identify incoming materials and outgoing products.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the computer inventory system and physical location and organization of inventory.
  • Load/unload trailers and verify quantities against packing lists.
  • Provide Lot numbers/batch numbers for Shipping Clerk.
  • Perform cycle counts and product disposal per customer request.
  • Maintain a continuous work pace that supports production and warehouse goals.
  • Perform routine maintenance on vehicles.
  • Maintain cGMP’s and housekeeping programs.
  • Demonstrate excellent judgment in the workplace.
  • Follow rules and regulations to ensure food safety, quality, and legality.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the department.

  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of cycle counts and routine maintenance.
  • Always maintain cGMP standards.
  • Operate industrial trucks in a safe and appropriate manner.

Qualifications:

Knowledge-Skills-Abilities:

Education:

  • High school education or equivalent expected.
  • Certification:
    Forklift – current status

Experience:

  • One year of previous experience operating a forklift in a professional environment.
  • The ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Demonstrated capacity to receive work direction and perform to the expectation assigned.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
  • Understands how to participate as a member of a team; supports the goals of the team.
  • Willing and able to work alongside a variety of people, with emphasis on respect and safety.
  • Qualified candidates must be quality conscious, safety conscious, energetic, and innovative.
  • Recent past experience as a dependable employee, particularly relating to low absenteeism and tardiness.

Technology/Software:

  • Capable of utilizing a computer or RF Scanners.
  • WMS experience preferred.

Communication:

  • Expected to be able to receive information and perform tasks assigned; likewise able to express themselves to avoid problems, errors, issues, or misunderstandings.

Physical Capabilities:

  • Ability to regularly lift, carry, turn, and raise; and/or lift, turn, and bend down to place a unit weighing up to 50 lb.
  • Ability to retrieve merchandise from shelves up to 6 feet high.
  • Ability to be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, non-toxic fumes, and airborne particles.

Movement:

  • Full mobility in, and use of, arms, hands, and legs.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.

Hearing:

  • Able to function in a semi-loud environment, with frequent loud bursts of noise.

Vision:

  • Able to see to operate machinery safely and efficiently.
