Structural Welder – Fluxcore/MIG

Location: Gurnee, IL (area)
Hours: 1st Shift | 6:00am – 2:30pm (with overtime as needed)

Our client is a well-established structural steel fabricator serving the Chicagoland area. They are known for producing high-quality steel structures and are seeking an experienced Structural Welder who can step in and make an immediate impact. The Structural Welder – Fluxcore/MIG is responsible for welding and fabricating structural steel components from layout to final assembly. This role requires the ability to interpret blueprints and welding symbols, set up and perform flux-core arc welding (FCAW) and MIG welding, and work independently with minimal supervision.

• Perform flux-core arc welding (FCAW) and MIG welding on structural steel.

• Read and interpret steel fabrication drawings and welding symbols.

• Layout, measure, and fit structural components prior to welding.

• Fabricate and assemble steel structures according to specifications.

• Work safely and efficiently while meeting quality standards.

• Stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

• Work independently with minimal direction while contributing to team goals.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in structural steel welding and fabrication.

• Strong hands-on experience with Fluxcore (FCAW) and MIG welding.

• Proven ability to read blueprints, layouts, and weld symbols.

• Quick thinker with problem-solving skills; self-starter who needs little supervision.

• Physically able to handle shop environment (standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs).
