Role

Summary

The Multi‑Site Maintenance Manager leads the maintenance responsibilities across numerous manufacturing facilities, ensuring the reliability and performance of complex equipment, including automated production lines. This role combines technical expertise with strategic leadership to reduce downtime, uphold safety standards and drive operational excellence across all sites.

Position Responsibilities‑Tasks‑Deliverables

An individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. All duties as assigned and the following specific activities.

  • Lead and manage maintenance operations across multiple manufacturing facilities, ensuring consistent execution of maintenance strategies and standards.
  • Supervise and support maintenance teams, including mechanics, technicians, and leads, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime, extend equipment life, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with production leadership to minimize disruptions and ensure alignment with operational goals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues, providing technical guidance and hands‑on support when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies across all sites.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, including labor, parts, tools, and contracted services, while identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Standardize maintenance procedures and documentation across all locations to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee the use and optimization of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking work orders, asset history, and performance metrics.
  • Lead root‑cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment failures or safety incidents.
  • Support capital projects and equipment installations, collaborating with engineering, operations, and external vendors.
  • Recruit, train, and develop maintenance personnel, ensuring technical proficiency and readiness for evolving technologies.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess maintenance performance, provide leadership presence, and ensure alignment with company standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including lean maintenance practices, 5S, and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE):
    Measures the efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing equipment by evaluating availability, performance, and quality. A high OEE indicates minimal downtime, optimal speed, and low defect rates.
  • Mean Time to Repair (MTTR):
    Tracks the average time required to diagnose and repair equipment after a failure. Lower MTTR reflects faster response and repair capabilities, minimizing production disruptions.
  • Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF):
    Represents the average operational time between equipment breakdowns. A higher MTBF indicates improved reliability and effective preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Key Financial Metrics:
    Includes maintenance cost per unit produced, total maintenance spend vs. budget, and cost savings from preventive maintenance initiatives.
