Registered Nurse​/PACU

Job Summary

Vista Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for our PACU/Same Day Surgery unit. This role is ideal for a compassionate and detail-oriented nurse who thrives in a fast‑paced, patient‑centered environment. The RN will provide high‑quality post‑anesthesia and perioperative care, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal recovery following surgical procedures.

• Provide comprehensive post‑anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery or procedures.
• Monitor vital signs, pain levels, and overall recovery progress, intervening as needed.
• Administer medications and IV fluids per physician orders.
• Educate patients and families on postoperative care and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments and interventions.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.

• Current RN license in the state of Illinois (or eligibility for licensure).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (PALS preferred).
• Previous experience in PACU, Same Day Surgery, or Critical Care strongly preferred.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient conditions.

Salary: $35 - $50 per hour
