Assistant Cook

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Operations

* Oversee assigned meals following menu schedule

* Ensure food is prepared and served at scheduled times

* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and order

* Comply with OSHA and food service standards

* Enforce personal hygiene and appropriate attire requirements

Supervision & Training

* Supervise kitchen helpers during Chef's absence

* Train and oversee beneficiaries in kitchen duties

* Ensure compliance with food safety protocols

* Fill in for Resident Manager as needed (evening/overnight shift)

Facility Management

* Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization

* Monitor food safety and storage standards

* Assist with inventory management

* Support overall kitchen operations

Qualifications

Education & Experience

* High school diploma or equivalent required

* Graduate of accredited food service program preferred

* Six months institutional cooking experience preferred

Skills & Abilities

* Strong communication skills in English

* Basic computer proficiency

* Basic math skills

* Manual dexterity and attention to detail

* Ability to follow food safety protocols
