Food Service Cook – Vista Health System

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. The Cook will work closely with the kitchen staff to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
• Ensure that all food is cooked and presented to the highest quality and taste.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handling and storage of food items.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to manage and coordinate kitchen operations effectively.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and stocking supplies as needed.
• Handle special dietary requirements and accommodate customer requests when possible.
• Assist in menu planning and development, including suggesting new recipes and seasonal items.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast‑paced environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar culinary role.
• Knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and food safety practices.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.

Salary: $18 - $22 per hour
