Job DetailsLocation:
Waukegan, IL, United States
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour (weekly pay)
- Apply paint to multiple substrates and surfaces.
- Scrape, sand, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting.
- Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic for protection.
- Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, or other fillers.
- Use high lifts or ladders as needed.
- Operate floor grinding equipment.
- Follow all safety requirements and standards at all times.
- Work independently and manage other team members as assigned.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Understand proper use of paints and solvents for efficient work.
- Collaborate with other LACOSTA employees as a team player.
- Utilize proper personal protective equipment.
- Adapt to varying job assignments and working conditions.
- Follow plant rules at each job site.
- Travel may be required.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus; otherwise, willingness to obtain certification at company expense.
- Painting and prep experience (required).
- Knowledge of epoxy floor coatings and prep methods (preferred).
- Energetic, pleasant, and professional demeanor.
- Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
- Ability to recognize and interpret safety signs and building warning systems.
- Understanding of safety requirements and company handbook expectations.
- Flexibility to change tasks or assignments outside normal duties.
- Comfortable wearing PPE (hard hat, steel‑toed shoes, vest, etc.).
- Willingness to think on your feet and learn on the job.
- Preferred experience:
commercial/industrial painting, epoxy coating.
- 1st shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Monday – Friday).
- Overtime eligibility.
Exposure to normal weather conditions; potential working around semi‑trucks, trailers, dumpsters, and vans. Hazards may include construction areas. Moderate noise level; hearing protection may be required in some areas. Strict compliance with all PPE requirements is mandatory.
