As a Senior Construction Review Technician, you will review the construction of sewer, water, paving, and other critical infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with design plans and specifications. You'll provide direct support to contractors, project managers, and municipal partners, maintaining the highest standards of quality and communication. This position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:
- Inspect construction of sewer, water, paving, and other projects to verify compliance with line, grade, materials, and standards.
- Prepare detailed daily reports and record drawings using electronic reporting software.
- Communicate project details and updates to contractors, project managers, and municipal officials.
- Serve as a key contact for public inquiries, providing prompt and courteous responses.
- Recommend or escalate solutions to construction-related questions and complaints.
- Coordinate onsite construction activities to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Use field tools and measurements to verify adherence to project specifications.
- Assist in mentoring and guiding less experienced field staff.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following education, experience, and abilities:
- 10+ years of experience in construction, engineering, or a related field.
- Initiative, positive attitude, and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, using diplomacy and tact with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to act as an on-site coordinator for construction projects.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings.
- Skilled in using field tools to measure, estimate, and verify project specifications.
- Flexibility to move between different project sites and locations.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- A valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and vehicle insurance.
- Preferred, but not required:
- Associate degree.
- Experience in municipal infrastructure design.
- Experience with Computer Aided Drafting (CAD).
