Position: Cool Before and After school Instructor
Dates/Times:
2:15 - 6:00 pm -or- 3:15 - 6:00 pm (depending on the site)
6:45-8:45 am or 6:30-8:30 am (depending on the site)
Monday - Friday throughout the school year (including some non-school days)
Last day of school is typically second week of June.
NOTE:
There may be an opportunity to work for the Summer Playgrounds program upon conclusion of the After school Program
Compensation: $18-$20 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Job Description
Title: Cool Before/After School Instructor
Reports to: Recreation Supervisor and Recreation Programmer
Job Summary: Instructors are responsible for planning and leading a successful program at the school assigned.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
Participate in pre-season staff orientation/training program.Organize and lead activities at school site. Leaders are expected to be actively involved with all registered students that wish to participate.Develop and implement curriculum that provides fun, creative and safe programs for participants.Prevent injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors.Enforce rules and regulations of program.Leaders are responsible for the program facility and all equipment i.e. balls, jump ropes, bats, etc. belonging to WPRF.Ensure timely rotation of Enrichment Bins.Implement special events and themed activities at after school site.Complete all reports in a timely fashion, i.e. daily attendance, permission slips, requisition forms and timecards.Provide first aid as needed and complete appropriate accident report.Emphasize and model good sportsmanship in sports, games, and other activities.Attend staff meetings.Dress appropriately when on duty.Assist in supervising program volunteers.Follow all City of Waukesha employee work rules.Return all keys, paperwork and required equipment at the end of the program.Maintain good communication with WPRF, principal, other instructors, and parents.Qualifications:
Prior experience working with students desirableProficiency in the following skills:
Leadership, Decision-Making, Planning, Organization and CommunicationAbility to lead, plan, organize and implement program activities.Desire to work in a team environment with the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision.Enthusiastic personality and willingness to adapt to unforeseen circumstances.The City of Waukesha is an Equal Opportunity Employer
