Job Overview

Join GE Health Care as a Senior Systems Engineer. GE Health Care is a leading global medical technology and digital solutions innovator, dedicated to creating a world where healthcare has no limits.

We are developing Digital SaaS solutions for Women’s Health and X‑ray, layering onto the global install base of Mammography (Mammo), Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) and X‑ray devices. The project focuses on AI‑driven guidance that assists patients throughout radiologic procedures, integrating computer vision, robotics and intelligent control to coordinate imaging tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Support system‑level integration and verification of the autonomous X‑ray system.
  • Author and maintain system design and Advanced Technology Development documentation.
  • Gather and synthesize usability and workflow feedback to inform iterative design improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand user needs and develop intuitive design features for Digital/AI products.
  • Lead integration testing, validate product requirements, drive CTQ/Risk trades and manage interface between components.
  • Use data analysis and technical expertise to recommend solutions and guide team decisions.
Required Skills
  • Knowledge of Linux‑based systems, edge device configuration, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs).
  • Hands‑on experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines for edge environments.
  • Proficiency in automation tools (Ansible, Terraform) for edge deployments.
  • Basic understanding of IoT protocols, sensor integration, authentication and encryption for data in transit and at rest.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a similar STEM degree.
  • At least 6 years of commercial development experience in engineering.
Desired Characteristics
  • Experience working with X‑ray products and regulated product development in medical or highly regulated fields.
  • Familiarity with edge orchestration frameworks (K3s, Open Shift Edge) and higher‑level languages (Java or Python).
  • Familiarity with Windows‑based systems and Agile frameworks.
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, leadership, and project management skills.
