Job Summary:This position will advance multi-level health promotion strategies by engaging in and coordinating community-based health coalitions, facilitating partner alignment to support health, working directly with community organizations and settings to promote health-supportive policies, systems, and environments, and delivering education on health behaviors. Health & Well-Being educators are responsible for conducting local situational analyses and have experience in program development and evaluation.
Initial programming efforts of this position include planning, implementing, and evaluating multi-level interventions that promote nutrition, physical activity, volunteer management, and emerging work in mental and behavioral health. The position collaborates with local agencies, schools, food systems partners, coalitions, and community residents to reduce silos, elevate resident voice, and strengthen community health and well-being. Additionally, this position may conduct assessments to determine health priorities, support health programming in community settings, and work with community health coalitions.
Specifically, initial efforts will include nutrition/physical activity programming and wellness council engagement in schools, Strong Bodies volunteer leadership and oversight, support of local food systems and physical activity programs, and the expansion of community partnerships.
The main office for this position is located in Waukesha, WI and the primary programming focus is Waukesha County; however, some programming may also be conducted over a broader geographical area.
In PersonIt is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Evening/Weekend WorkThis position may be required to work occasional nights and weekends to meet the program needs and priorities of the communities served.

Applicants are required to:
Have a valid drivers license and a reliable source of independent transportation for periodic in-state work travel, and/or comply with requirements for UW-Madison vehicle use authorization.

Job Responsibilities:
- Leads the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers
- Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program
- Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of an outreach program
- Secures educational program revenue annually to support office revenue requirements
- Delivers outreach program content and materials to community members
- Researches, develops, and facilitates outreach program content and materials
- Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides recommendations for improvement
- Communicate plans, activities and achievements to Area Extension Director, Program Managers, partners and relevant stakeholders
- May assist with the monitoring of outreach program budget spending
