Buyer – Manufacturing​/Supply Chain

CAEtech is seeking a Buyer - Manufacturing / Supply Chain for a full-time contract position with benefits supporting manufacturing operations in Waukesha, Wisconsin. This is an onsite position in Waukesha, Wisconsin, with a typical Monday-Friday schedule of 7:00 AM-4:00 PM.

The Buyer will manage day-to-day procurement activities in an Engineer-to-Order manufacturing environment, including converting purchase requisitions to purchase orders, sourcing and quoting new parts, executing MRP requirements, communicating with suppliers and supporting on-time material delivery. The role requires strong supplier communication, ERP/MRP experience and the ability to resolve purchasing, delivery and accounts-payable issues.

• Convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders.
• Release and issue purchase orders to suppliers through the ERP system.
• Request and track supplier acknowledgment of purchase orders.
• Execute MRP exception messages, including past-due orders, expedites and de-expedites.
• Conduct proactive supplier purchase-order reviews to support on-time delivery.
• Communicate regularly with suppliers regarding order status, delivery and material requirements.
• Escalate supply and delivery issues as needed.
• Resolve Accounts Payable invoice discrepancies to support timely supplier payment.
• Source and quote new materials and components based on engineering specifications.
• Identify potential suppliers and obtain bids or quotations.
• Evaluate supplier proposals and support negotiations involving pricing, delivery and commercial terms.
• Resolve supplier issues involving pricing, quality and delivery.
• Support supplier performance and maintain effective supplier relationships.

• Knowledge of purchasing and procurement processes.
• ERP/MRP system experience.
• Purchase requisition and purchase-order processing.
• Supplier communication and issue resolution.
• Ability to manage supplier delivery issues through phone, video and email communication.
• Material sourcing and quotation experience.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple purchasing activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• SAP MRP planning and purchasing modules.
• Microsoft Excel, Teams and Copilot.
• Supply-chain logistics and inventory-management knowledge.
• Contract-management knowledge.

High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Management or a related field.

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Purchasing or Planning function

• Manufacturing purchasing/procurement experience.
• Engineer-to-Order manufacturing experience.
• SAP purchasing/MRP experience.
• Experience sourcing and quoting new components based on engineering requirements.

APICS CSCP and/or CPIM certification.
