Pay RangeBase pay: $33.34 per hour. Additional shift premiums may apply.
Job SummaryFabricate and weld ferrous and nonferrous sheet, plate, and structural steels using various machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Receive assignments and instructions from supervisors (verbal and written).
- Read and understand schedules and workflow requirements.
- Follow shop documents, prints, and paperwork including E.I.’s, M.P.’s, and blueprints.
- Obtain raw materials or parts, load them to work centers, and organize own work area.
- Keep tools, equipment, machines, and work area clean and organized; verify crane and man lift safety at shift start.
- Inspect parts, materials, and assemblies for conformance to specifications and design criteria.
- Investigate potential and actual nonconformances and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform minor repairs and machine maintenance.
- Produce the product accurately within the established standard.
- Use Time and Attendance system to punch in and out accurately.
- Program small‑piece parts and set up and operate machines.
- Identify finished pieces and move them to the next work center, storage, or queue area.
- Identify and store excess stock in appropriate locations.
- Sand, grind, wash, or shot‑blast plate steel or structural parts for manufacturing.
- Weld components and repair defects as needed.
- Inspect welding processes and materials for compliance with design criteria and inspection procedures.
- Operate overhead and jib cranes, man lifts, fork trucks, and miscellaneous tools.
- Operate engine lathe, radial drill press, band saw, press brake, shear, wheel abrator, grinders, hydraulic punch, pipe and rod threaders, numerical‑control plasma cutter, CNC machining center, CNC saw, and measuring tools (tapes, calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, jigs, dies, fixtures).
- Perform welding techniques: SAW, SMAW, GMAW, Oxyacetylene welding, plasma cutting, air‑arc gouging, brazing, stud welding, and GTAW with positioners and fixtures. Use portable grinders and leak test equipment.
- Work with a variety of steel and alloy materials, including hot, cold, alloyed, and stainless steels, as well as copper and aluminum.
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Physical DemandsMust be able to stand for extended periods, occasionally sit or walk. Must climb, balance, push, pull, carry, and work below waist level.
Working ConditionsShop floor located in a large manufacturing plant.
