Schedule Details: 12‑hour shifts, 7 p.m.–7:30 a.m., every other weekend and alternating holidays.

Waukesha Memorial Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit is a 24‑bed, multi‑specialty unit serving adult and some pediatric patients. The unit earned a silver‑level Beacon Award for Excellence, reflecting strong patient outcomes and alignment with AACN standards.

The Critical Care Technician provides high‑acuity nursing care in the ICU, implementing procedures, coordinating patient care, and supporting the RN and physicians.

• Assist the RN or Physician with procedures such as DMR care, emptying drains, and suctions of chest tubes
• Set up sterile field and assist physicians with line placements and chest tube insertions
• Perform phlebotomy – drawing blood from arterial lines as delegated
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (dressing, toileting, positioning, nourishment)
• Discontinue arterial lines, sheaths, Foley catheters, and I.V.s
• Insert peripheral IVs and Foley Catheters
• Stock room and unit with supplies

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
