2nd Shift Engineering Technician
The 2nd Shift Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting product testing activities. This involves equipment setup, instrumentation, teardown, assembly, and general mechanical and electrical work. This hands-on role requires strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with wiring and electrical components in a laboratory environment. Second shift hours are from 1:30 PM to 11:00 PM Monday through Thursday, and 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM on Friday.
Responsibilities- Setup, instrument, and teardown products undergoing testing.
- Build and assemble test fixtures, prototype products, and instrumentation components.
- Install, route, crimp, and connect wiring, wire harnesses, and electrical components.
- Utilize basic hand tools including sockets, screwdrivers, wrenches, and hammers.
- Follow test procedures and work instructions.
- Support troubleshooting and assembly tasks, test data collection, and observations.
- Enter information into spreadsheets and tracking systems.
- Maintain organized work areas and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools.
- Comfortable working around electrical wiring and wire harnesses.
- Ability to read and follow procedures and work instructions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Reliable, trainable, and willing to learn new equipment and processes.
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must provide basic personal hand tools.
This position operates within a laboratory environment that requires adherence to safety protocols and procedures. The work involves handling various mechanical and electrical tasks, necessitating the use of basic hand tools. The role is structured in a second shift schedule, which is Monday through Thursday from 1:30 PM to 11:00 PM and Friday from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Waukesha, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $33.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
