Waukesha County Airport is looking to hire up to 20 temporary, part-time workers to perform snow/de-icing duties and other related grounds maintenance work.

This position requires the ability to work in all weather conditions.

The recruitment will remain open until the positions have been filled.

Prior to hiring, the successful candidate will be subject to work/education/certification reference(s) and a criminal background and driver's license check.

• Operates equipment for snow removal and de-icing under adverse weather conditions.
• Inspects, maintains, and operates daily assigned equipment to ensure continued safe and efficient operation of the airport.
• May be called upon at any time to respond to emergency situations such as: snowstorms, windstorms, flooding, accidents, fires.
• Establishes and maintains effective working and public relations with coworkers, airport users, service providers, the public, vendors, and outside agencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge and Abilities

• Working knowledge of occupational hazards and safe work practices.
• Ability to operate a variety of trucks and equipment necessary for airport grounds maintenance.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor for extended periods under variable weather conditions.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working and public relations with co‑workers, the public, vendors and outside agencies.
• Ability to interact with sensitivity with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds, and persons of all ages and lifestyles.
• Ability to respond at any time to emergency situations such as snowstorms, windstorms, flooding, traffic accidents, and fires.

Training and Experience Requirements

• High school graduation or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Possess mechanical aptitude.
• Work experience in airport and/or other facility's grounds maintenance, and the operation of a variety of related trucks and equipment, is highly desirable.
• Possession of a valid Wisconsin Class B Commercial Driver's License is highly desirable.
