Electric Distribution Designer I

Direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of electric distribution installation projects for electric utility clients in Wisconsin.

• Complete electrical distribution design projects (underground and overhead) independently or with support staff to meet the needs of electric utility clients.
• Collect field data and analyze engineering sketches, specifications, and related drawings to produce final product.
• Complete tabs and populate information in proprietary customer software.
• Complete permitting processes with local authorities.
• Coordinate with construction crews for installation of facilities per the design.
• Coordinate with customers on all aspects of the project.
• Review design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, client requirements, and related specifications.
• Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 10+ years minimum experience in the utility industry, preferably in design-related roles.
• Ability to manage numerous tasks/projects simultaneously.
• Ability to direct and work with other employees; self‑directed with minimal supervision.
• Effective technical writing and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize daily work, including tracking and managing competing priorities.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of management within the organization.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
• Will primarily work on projects in Wisconsin.
