Role OverviewThe Value‑Add Procurement Manager manages the sourcing and purchasing of machining, paint and heat‑treat services essential for foundry operations. The role includes supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, cost control, inventory and quality oversight, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to align procurement strategies with production needs.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and select suppliers for machining, paint, and heat‑treat services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery schedules.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Negotiate pricing and terms to optimize costs while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Monitor inventory levels and order materials in time to meet production demands without excess stock or shortages.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure all materials and services meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct market research and risk management to identify trends, price fluctuations, emerging technologies, and potential supply‑chain risks; develop contingency plans.
- Support safety objectives and regulations within the facilities and at supplier locations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional disciplines to align procurement with the foundry’s operational needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or related field.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and risk‑management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Leadership experience with conflict resolution, cross‑functional communication, and a positive, motivational attitude.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, charts, graphs, Excel, Lotus Notes, and SAP.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting, financial controls, and independent task planning.
- Ability to travel to Waupaca Foundry locations and supplier sites as required.
- On‑site at Corporate Office with frequent interface with customer service, sales, quality, and finance.
- Travel to Waupaca Foundry sites and supplier locations as needed.
