The Project Manager is a Cross-Functional Coordinator and a key integrator within our casting manufacturing facility, responsible for aligning engineering initiatives, value-add outsourcing efforts, procurement processes, and program management objectives. This role ensures cohesive communication, timely execution, and alignment of deliverables across all departments involved in Project development and Projection. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is adept at driving cross-functional collaboration to meet project and business goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Cross-Departmental Coordination:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Engineering, Value-Add Outsourcing, Procurement, and Program Management.
  • Facilitate effective communication, ensuring all departments are aligned on objectives, timelines, and requirements.
  • Monitor project milestones and elevate issues or risks to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Project Execution Support:
  • Track and report progress on key programs and initiatives related to casting manufacturing and secondary operations.
  • Ensure engineering designs are manufacturable and aligned with supplier capabilities and procurement strategies.
  • Coordinate with Program Managers to ensure project plans are realistic and achievable across departments.
  • Outsourcing and Supplier Integration:
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Value-Add Outsourcing teams to identify, onboard, and manage third-party service providers for machining, finishing, or other post-casting operations.
  • Ensure outsourced operations align with quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
  • Engineering

    Collaboration:

  • Partner with engineering teams during design and development to provide input on manufacturability, cost, and sourcing.
  • Help drive design for manufacturability (DFM) and value engineering efforts.
  • Procurement Support:
  • Work closely with procurement teams to ensure timely sourcing of materials and services.
  • Align procurement strategies with project timelines and outsourcing capabilities.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance efficiency and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to casting operations and post-processing workflows.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal casting or heavy industry.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, procurement operations, and project management methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Experience in a casting facility or foundry environment.
  • Familiarity with CAD systems and Project lifecycle management (PLM) tools.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/SKILLS
  • Mix of office (on-site and remote) and shop floor environment.
  • Occasional travel to suppliers, customers, or other company sites may be required.
