This role coordinates and administers a variety of programs and activities covering multiple HR activities. With direct supervision by HR Management or Senior HR professionals this position will coordinate or administer various aspects of the organization’s compensation and benefit, recruitment, training, organization development, and employee relations programs. The Generalist will operate in and be responsible for more than one of these areas and perform many of the same activities as professionals that specialize in these individual HR functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Accommodate employee questions, concerns and/or complaints.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of employee master data and benefits records.
  • Coordinating training of personnel in the understanding and utilization of employee benefits information.
  • Planning, organizing and directing the activities related to group health, group life, dental, vision, flexible fringe benefits and wellness programs.
  • Maintaining and monitoring Affirmative Action Plans and related documentation for all plant locations.
  • Reviewing and assuring compliance with Federal and State Statutes as it effects employees and human resource/benefits administration.
  • Assigning priorities and deadlines to tasks.
  • Preparing special reports and records.
  • Coordinating workflow and procedures between employee benefits and other departments.
  • Acting as liaison between employee benefits and other departments and locations/plants.
  • Acting as a liaison between all health plan representatives and employee benefits.
  • Preparing and developing communication and educational materials regarding the benefits package for all the enrolled employees and their dependents.
  • Provides input for the development of computer programs/processes pertaining to employee relations and benefits packages.
  • Occasionally performs other duties to cover for vacations, such as…
    • Monitoring the switchboard
    • Leading New Hire Orientation
    • Processing NMS Orders
    • Processing FMLA paperwork and off-work notices
  • Is responsible for maintaining very confidential information and protecting its security.
  • Performs various clerical and statistical assignments related to personnel functions.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating job descriptions.
  • Runs various reports and updates when needed, including but not limited to:
    • Absenteeism reports
  • Assists with planning company events:
    • Ten-plus party
    • Christmas party
    • Company picnic
    • Leadgroup meetings
  • Maintains “The Hub” site:
    • Announcements
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

  • An Associate’s Degree and/or a Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • Experience in HR/Benefits preferred.
  • Bilingual and able to read, write and speak Spanish preferred.
