Guest Service Manager

Full‑time position located at Bethany Home
, Waupaca, Wisconsin. Pay: $20.00 per hour.

Hours:

6:00 am–2:30 pm and 10:30 am–7:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide appropriate food service assistance and operational support in coordination with the Food and Beverage Director and Kitchen Manager. Execute menu and delivery consistently with restaurant standards, monitor front‑of‑house service for timeliness, presentation, and satisfaction.
  • Directly responsible for the quality of service. Oversee dining staff and service campus‑wide with a strong emphasis on resident/guest satisfaction. Maintain a constant on‑floor presence, interacting with staff, and performing table touches.
  • Use staff, resident, and family feedback to enhance food service operations.
  • Host, serve tables, expedite food, and maintain courteous, professional conduct during meal service.
  • Understand and apply accepted nutritional standards, facility policies, and procedures. Apply dietary principles to meet established quality standards and accommodate special diets.
  • Verify resident information daily (new admissions, hospitalizations, expirations, diet changes, unit changes, census, preferences, outings, events, birthdays) and relay it to staff. Ensure that all forms are readable and accurate.
  • Respect the rights, dignity, and individuality of each resident in all interactions. Act as a role model, protect and promote residents’ rights, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Use interpersonal skills to interact with facility staff, residents, and families; take corrective action when needed.
  • Follow and enforce procedures, ensuring portion control, appearance, and temperature control. Coordinate and supervise employee work.
  • Handle, prepare, label, store, and dispose of food in compliance with HACCP and department policies. Clean and sanitize workstations before and after preparation.
  • Ensure detailed cleaning of all dining areas and service equipment as scheduled and complete random inspections. Report issues to Maintenance and the Food and Beverage Director.
  • Assist with planning, set‑up, and service of special functions and catered events, following procedures and quality expectations.
  • Assist the Kitchen Manager and perform any other duties assigned by the Food and Beverage Director.
  • Qualifications / What You Bring
    • Five years of relevant experience, including at least three years in a management position.
    • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary or hospitality management degree preferred.
    • Serve‑Safe certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
    • Problem‑solving, critical thinking, and basic math skills.
    • Physical and mental ability to carry out assigned tasks, duties, and instructions.
    • Understanding of the needs of elderly residents and general staffing requirements.
