Responsibilities Customer Experience
  • Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolves customer complaints, responds to requests promptly, and answers non‑clinical questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Models and shares customer‑service best practices.
  • Develops strong relationships with customers by anticipating needs and proactively offering services.
  • Enhances experience by increasing focus on healthcare services.
Operations
  • Assists pharmacist in patient care: registration, prescription data entry, medication preparation, counting, and verification (where allowed by law).
  • Completes patient and physician calls under pharmacist supervision.
  • Assists with healthcare services: administering vaccines, health screenings, and other allowed activities.
  • Delegates and assigns non‑clinical work, ensuring tasks are completed on time.
  • Prepares and files required reports and records.
  • Manages core pharmacy workflow, schedules daily activities, recommends hour allocation, and ensures a clean, orderly, stocked pharmacy.
  • Ensures compliance and execution of administrative activities and inventory tasks that do not require pharmacist licensure; manages annual inventory preparation.
  • Drives new technology/process roll‑out and champions change.
  • Ensures proper operation and maintenance of pharmacy equipment.
  • Adheres to Good Faith Dispensing policy and reports any concerns that would compromise security.
  • Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques and supports diversion monitoring.
  • Communicates prescription errors to the pharmacist and follows company policies and the Continuous Quality Improvement Program.
  • Processes insurance claims accurately, follows up with insurers and providers, and participates in third‑party audits.
  • Assists Store and Pharmacy Managers in improving pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service.
  • Manages Community Outreach Portal and coordinates immunization clinics and community events.
People & Performance Management
  • Leads performance management of technicians, including discipline and termination decisions.
  • Maintains and improves pharmacy performance through team member engagement and action planning.
  • Handles technician hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling; monitors timely training completion.
  • Identifies knowledge gaps and supports training via hands‑on instruction or learning modules.
  • Ensures all licensure, registrations, and certifications are active and compliant.
  • Follows proper selection, recruitment, record‑retention, and training procedures per company policy and laws.
Training & Personal Development
  • Maintains PTCB certification and state‑required certifications.
  • Enhances current knowledge and skills in pharmacy and healthcare.
  • Obtains necessary certifications, education credits, and training such as LTMP e‑modules.
  • Seeks professional development through self‑monitoring, feedback solicitation, and mentorship.
Communication
  • Communicates with pharmacy team, relaying messages from support center or key emails.
  • Participates in store/pharmacy meetings, including brief daily check‑ins and weekly meetings.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of pharmacy technician experience in retail or hospital setting.
  • Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous people‑management or leadership experience.
  • Previous Walgreens experience with Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.

The current salary range for this position is $22.50 per hour - $31.00 per hour.
